Dr Mark Thompson has 25 years’ experience in business and technology. He is Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at Cambridge Judge Business School, Visiting Professor at Surrey Business School, Strategy Director/owner at Methods Group where he has founded three successful startups, Advisor on Digital to the Scottish Government, member of Digital Leaders Advisory Board, and Main Board Member at UK technology trade association TechUK. He has also been member of NAO Digital Advisory Panel, Cabinet Office Data Steering Group, Intellect Main Board, Cabinet Office ICT Futures Senior Advisor, and Senior Technology Advisor to George Osborne when Shadow Chancellor.
Mark is acknowledged as one of the architects of government’s shift towards Open architecture, and is a frequent contributor to columns and chair of panels and conferences on Digital public services (he chairs the Annual National Digital Conference). His co-authored book, <span lang=”EN-GB”><a href=”http://www.digitizinggovernment.org/”><i>Digitizing Government</i></a>, appeared in December 2014, and <a href=”https://digitizinggovernment.weebly.com/manifesto.html”><i>Manifesto for Better Public Services</i></a><i> </i>launched at the Institute for Government in April 2018.</span>
