After 23 years in various roles with Royal Dutch Shell Gary Steel spent the last 12 years of his executive career with ABB where he was a member of their Group Executive Committee for 11 years and Chief HR Officer for 12 years. During this latter time he also held the positions of Chairman of ABB Sweden for 10 years, Chairman of ABB India (an Indian listed Company) for 5 years, Executive Sponsor for the Shell and BP accounts for 10 years and Global Head of Sustainability for 12 years. Currently, in addition to running his consultancy company, he is a Non-Executive Director of Harman Industries International since 2007 and a Non-Executive Director of SSE Power Distribution. Gary Steel also teaches on the MBA’s programs at HSG Business School in St Gallen, Switzerland and the post graduate program at ISCTE Business School in Lisbon, Portugal.
