Florian is a Partner in McKinsey’s Zurich office, the EMEA Lead of McKinsey Academy, and part of the EMEA Organization practice leadership team. He has served clients in more than 25 countries globally, with a focus on Europe and Asia – where he spent six years serving fast-growth emerging market clients out of our Singapore office. During this time, he also co-founded our Center for Asian Leadership, one of the precursors to McKinsey Academy.
Florian has deep expertise in orchestrating at-scale organizational and talent change, increasingly in the context of the rapid digitalization and automation of the workplace. He has supported leading global organizations across industries in transforming their organizations, their culture, and their talent base. Florian is particularly passionate about helping leadership teams and individual leaders accelerate their growth and strengthen their leadership performance. To enable organizations to do so at scale, he helps clients build the capabilities to systematically accelerate leadership development, implement effective talent management practices, and transform the HR organization’s capabilities to lead his client organizations into the “future of work”.
Prior to joining McKinsey in 2001, Florian was a Senior Consultant with the IBM Consulting Group, and investigated the success factors of startup teams with Bain & Co. Florian holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University, and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MSc in Communications Systems Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne. Florian is a dual citizen of Switzerland and Germany, and lives with his family near Zurich. Outside of work, he is passionate about history and politics, participating in all kinds of water sports, and exploring the foods of the world on his travels.
