Alexander Sebald is Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Center of Experimental Economics at the Economics Department of the University of Copenhagen. He holds a joint PhD in Economics from Maastricht University and the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
His main fields of research and teaching are “behavioral economics”, “contract theory” and “personnel economics”. His research interests are of importance to firms, businesses and governments. Alexander has worked extensively on better understanding people’s procedural concerns, i.e. how people react to different decision making procedures, as well as people’s reactions to subjective performance evaluations. His research findings provide useful insights for firms and especially HR-managers for the optimal design of appointment, promotion and appraisal systems. Moreover, Alexander is the co-founder and scientific head of ‘The Intuition Challenge’ – an interactive online tool aimed at measuring people’s judgement and decision making qualities.
